constrains for 4 axis machining

Hi. We want to purchase 4 axis CNC similar to this one:

Jinan Acctek 4 axis cnc router machine AKM1525 (youtube.com)

But in fusion option there is no 4 axis machining. Only 3 and 5 axis.

How to make constrain to only 4 axis?

Hello @d.konopko . Apologies for the late reply.

As you may have found already by now, some strategies do offer the 4-axis Machining Type, e.g. Geodesic and Deburr. Some are intrinsically 4-axis, e.g. Rotary Pocket, Rotary Parallel, and Rotary Contour.  Perhaps these can be of use to you?

We are working to make 4-axis machining easier in other strategies. Until then you can define the tool axis limits to restrict the cutting moves to 4-axis motion only. For example:

  • Create a sketch along the line of the rotational axis
  • Align the setup Z axis with the rotational axis
  • Set Machining Type as 5-axis
  • Set Tool Axis Reference to "Setup Z-axis", which is the default
  • Set the Primary Mode to "To curve" and select the sketch of the rotational axis
  • Select Tool Axis Limits
  • Set Minimum Tilt Angle and Maximum Tilt Angle to 90 degrees.
  • Set Areas Beyond Limit to Machine At Axis Limit, i.e. it will be move the tool axis to be within the plane perpendicular to the rotational axis.

If you require Collision Avoidance, set that "To curve" too, selecting the same sketch.

Hope that helps.
