Can you force a preferable axis clearing toolpath direction?

I have been attempting to clear a larger amount from my stock wood using the default setup adaptive method. However I have found that that it only works well when moving the axis aligned with the grain. When using the axis across the grain the bit seems to skip and chip the wood.

Is the a way to specify to the toolpath so that it prefers one axis (say X) over the other axis?

It would help if you could upload the Fusion file.

However if you only wish to machine in a specific direction then pehaps a Contour operation with a fairly large tool and stepping over and then back the way it went, that would keep the tool going in a specific axis direction.

See attached file for example.

Regards

Rob

Thanks for the file, I see your using the 2D cutting, I'll give that a try and see where I am able to get.

I've also uploaded my file, I know I will need to do 2 separate cuts because of the over-hang, but for now I'm just concentrating on the top-cut.
