Can you do REST machining with hobby version

2C77CA44-006D-4DA1-92CC-8DD865C1A64B.jpeg

I’m a beginner, and am learning the software. I’m trying to use REST machining for making a sign. Would need smaller endmill for words  in middle. Software is telling me I can’t do a tool change in same post. Is there a way to still do REST machining in hobby version?

I definitely don’t have an automatic tool changer. I’d expect to manually change tool and then re-zero the Z axis.

Thanks!

Ted

Yes. it does rest machining. You have to post out per tool. So post out 1 operation with your larger tool, then post out another with the smaller tool. Both operations (or more) can be within the same setup.
