Bug - Simulation Gouges and or not depending on "Stop on Collision"

Okey dokey, this one surprised me.

Setup: 3D Adaptive pass. 1/32" BM, with a 1.5 deg tapered shaft. Leaving 0.002" stock in both directions. Tolerance has been adjusted between 1 thou + 1 thou smoothing, and 1/2 thou and 1/2 thou smoothing. Lead in & out have been set to small amounts and 0.

Situation: I'm running the simulation. It's not uncommon for Fusion to flag shaft rapid collisions of this 1.5deg tapered shaft and the 2 deg tapered wall. But this time, when I have "Stop on Collsion" checked, the simulation displays a deep gouge.

When I uncheck that, and just let the simulation run, it displays no gouging.

Really weird. Looking at the toolspaths, I cannot see any deviations from what I should expect, but there are a lot of toolpaths which may be blocking my view.

Thanks

Tom

Sorry, forgot to say the pass is under the setup "A-Side" and is Adaptive12 under Pattern4.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for the file! I tested simulation with your file and the results were different depending on whether the stop on collision option is ON or OFF. Is this the issue you reported? Please let me know if I'm mistaken.

I just went ahead and reported this issue to the development team. (the ticket ID is CAM-5927 ) I will circle back here once I have more information to share.
