The generic post that comes with Fusion is pretty useless, try the one in this thread. Read though the whole thread and use one of the later posts, someone else added a modified version of the post I made, haven't tried it so don't know if it's OK. As for where to save the custom post, see below.

Do not put custom posts in the generic posts folder. Use the personal folder. or another location.
