Hi,
Im after some advice please on 3D scanners - for reverse engineering in a machine shop.
Parts would be up to 800 x 300 x 100mm in size,
Instead of manually measuring each part and modelling up, We have been thinking about getting a 3d scanner, there appears to be a huge range of scanners out there with a massive price range.
Has anyone got a recommendation of what would work well, whats the difference between a £1000 scanner and the £20,000 scanners?
Thanks
Not sure If I would be able to recommend any specific brand, but basically in my experience difference between £1000 scanner and the £20,000 scanners are mostly software support. More expensive ones will provide better postprocessing of the captured data.
Research what type of scanner suits your needs the best, make sure that the software provided will allow you to compare the CAD data with the point cloud.
