What happened to the Tangential Extension Distance?

Hi,

It used to be very easy to control the tangential extension distances before this last update.  Has the location for this feature moved to another place, or is it removed completely?

It's still there! Click on the "gear" icon for your chain:

I like the extra control for each contour but an apply to all checkbox to give us the option to run as before would save time in a lot of cases when we want them all the same. I'm now having to use Tangential Fragment extension distance to try and make up the time.

I 100% agree with you. I hope they fix this in their next update. although, the ability to edit the extention length on individual contours is really nice it would be nice to still have the ability to edit all at once. I literally just programmed a 2d contour on a part with about 20 chains and had to go through each and every one of them to edit the extension length. Do the people at autodesk not really realize how dumb that is??

It's not that we don't realize the absurdity of it, it's that what you're seeing is the first version of things. There are more enhancements to come, we just couldn't get everything we wanted right out of the gate

The other very handy feature that I hope comes back soon are the incremental up and down buttons.

IF you need an extension on ALL contours, considering editing your lead in linear distance instead. Same effect

       do you guys think you will be fixing this soon? its such a pain in the *** to have to go and manually alter the extension length on every single chain... im shocked this wasn't fixed already in the most recent update.... dont know anything about software writing but I imagine it cant be that hard to fix.   Also, being able to position the chains in the order you would like them to run with some up and down arrows would be awesome. Right now as you know if you want to add something in a specific order you have to unselect all chains and reselect again.  One last complaint haha, can we get the software to prompt us "are you sure you want to close?" when we hit close.  its happened twice now that i have accidentally hit close and the software just closes.... it auto saves a design at least but not a blueprint just FYI

Apologies if this is a dumb comment; I am just learning this process. The gear icon does not appear next to my chain selection; it appears below it. Selecting the gear only gives me the "edit," "delete," and "flip directions" options, and I'm not given the options in the screenshot above. One of the comments mentions altering the linear lead in the distance. Will that work in place? Am I not looking at the right thing?

Thanks for the reply @a.laasW8M6T . This could just be an issue with Fusion or how I've set this up then. When I double-click on the selection, as you demonstrated, I'm not given the same options you are.

That's because you have selected a CLOSED Chain, you cannot apply any extensions to a closed chain as there is nothing to extend.

You can however apply a Finishing overlap in the passes tab
