turn past center boring.

Hi I am having a problem with getting my boring bar to go past center. I have Value equal to tool corner rad in the "distance to cut below center". but i am just getting a "Warning: Toolpath crosses rotary axis". Is there some thing i am missing or is this a problem in Fusion?

thanks

sounds like its just the standard alarm that's telling you its crossing center.. which obviously you know since you programmed it... should still post its just a "hey by the way incase you didn't know.." alarm.

what is your retract and clearance/inner radius set to under the radii tab?

This has to be a bug because nothing will satisfy it. If .0156 corner radius is used on tool, tool is at center line when it reaches .0312 diameter.

If you add "cut below center line value" tool tip is going past center line and opposite rotation direction will ruin tip , not because there is any stock to cut, but because it will still be in contact with stock, rubbing will create friction and as a result leave mark on finish and some deposit buildup on tool tip.

Another issue is that, clearance, feed pane and retract must all be below end of an ID cut which in this case would be "below zero" and you can't have negative values in those clearance fields.

Just general conflict of idea that has no practical solution, I usually set values to something like .1 above center line and later adjust resulting code to go to center.
