Tool Library's wont load.

All my tool library's wont load. Everything from local, Cloud, and Fusion. It just sits and spins trying to load.

What has happened? This didn't start until the October update and hot fixes. What Can I do to get them back. I've done everything including system reboot. Everything I've programmed over the last week I've had to make a new tool from scratch.

Hi @ronBZV6V

Thanks for your post and sorry to hear about the problem you're having!

We are aware of a bug related to this which was fixed in the latest hotfix release that went out last night. The first thing to try would be to update to the latest version of Fusion 360 and try again.

If that doesn't solve the issue for you, it would really help if you could provide us with a copy of one of the tool libraries that is failing to load so that we can diagnose the issue. On Windows, you can find your local libraries in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\libraries\Local. If you're not comfortable sharing the library here, feel free to drop me a direct message with the library.

Thanks,

It wont even load the fusion 360 built in tool library's in the picture here:

It will let me see tools in anything I have actively open, but it wont loan any tool library at all.

Thanks for the extra info, @ronBZV6V!

To be sure, this is still the case after updating to the latest version of Fusion 360?

Given this problem isn't specific to individual libraries it would help if you could send us a copy of all your local tool libraries so that we can try to reproduce the issue. You can do this on Windows by navigating to C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\libraries, right-clicking on the "Local" folder and selecting "Send to" > "Compressed (zipped) folder" and then sending us the zip folder that is created. Again, if you'd prefer please feel free to send that to me in a direct message.

Thanks,

Thanks, Steve - I’ll start taking a look now! In the meantime, if this is causing you a lot of issues, you could try temporarily switching back to the old tool library by switching the “tool library” feature flag off. You can do this by following these steps:

  • Click your avatar in the top-right of Fusion 360 > Select “Preferences”
  • Go to the “Preview Features” tab at the bottom of the left-hand panel
  • Scroll down to “Tool Library” > Uncheck > Click “Apply”

Not sure whether this will solve the issue but it's worth a try,

Thanks for sending over your libraries and providing extra information @ronBZV6V. I know that using the old tool library is working for you as a workaround for now, but a couple of suggestions for things to try if you did want to switch back to the new tool library:

  1. Export or copy all you cloud libraries somewhere, delete all the cloud libraries from the tool library and then re-import them one-by-one. This may just solve the issue but otherwise should help us identify if a specific library is causing the problem.
  2. Since all your libraries are cloud libraries, you could see if they are working on another machine if you have one available. That would help us work out if there's a machine-specific issue here.

Thanks,

In my class at school I have all students as members of my team.   Plus they have their original user team.

I did notice some students could not get cloud tools or cloud post while working on a project in our school team.
If they went back to user team and checked asset folder and went back then everything was ok again.

I'm having this same issue. Using version 2.0.9512 Followed the instructions to go back to the old tool library but would love to see this problem fixed.

Its March 14 2025 and this same exact problem with hot fix and saving games has brought my workflows to a complete stop. When do you guys think you will fix this issue ?

Hmm? I'm not aware of any current Tool library issues, care to elaborate on what you're experiencing, perhaps a screen recording so we can see your steps and results?

Same here, I'll try to record video, but it seems to be happening randomly.
