Tool Library Default

I've found past posts asking a similar question.  But none has seemed to answer the question, or maybe just not what I'm looking for.

I've imported tool libraries provided by the manufactures of all the tools I have.  I set up a local library called My_Tools which has a copy of the manufacture's tool for only the ones I actually have.  So 100's of tools reduced to the dozen or so I actually have.

Every time I go to select a tool it defaults to the ALL library.  Can I change the default to My_Tools?  I don't see in the reference induction that control even exists.

I'm operating on a "Non commercial Use" hobby license does that make a difference?

I'm using the Tool Library Preview feature, could that have something to do with it?

Is there a *.ini, *.html or some other setup file I can manually edit to change the default?

Hi @neinspam2XVWZ,

For as far as I understand your question is this not possible at the moment.

I suggested an option within the previous version of the tool library.

There it was possible to uncheck libraries you don't want to use during the filtering.

At this time this isn't possible. But some changes are coming. Hopefully, that gives you the possibility you are looking for.

@neinspam2XVWZ It is not possible to select a library to pick tools from. When you select a tool from your library it creates a copy of the tool in your active document. We have completed some work recently which focuses the active document by default, this was to stop users picking the same tools from their libraries and unknowingly creating multiple duplicates. In this case the workflow would be to copy the tools required into your active document and then start programming the part. The active document will automatically be focussed and you can select your actual tools without fear of creating duplicates.

Thanks

Chris,

It just seems odd not having control over the default library when there are user/custom libraries.

Does Fusion 360 create a duplicate or an instance of the tool?  What potential issues is there with a duplicate?
