Tool Holder clearance issue bug

When using adaptive clearing I am trying to use the holder pull away feature. Depending on the top plane selected the holder will crash into whatever model feature is above the top plane.

I can't show pictures of this part but the description is very simple. Also, I will work around the issue till it's resolved just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Try This...

If you are using adaptive clearing and use the tool holder clearance function any feature above the top plane is ignored and the holder will crash into it.

I can model something to show what I mean but I think you could easily reproduce it on your end. 

Let me know if it is still a mystery and I can draw something to show.

I went through my old replies but could not find the thread. @seth.madore and I responded to a similar question/comment which if I recall correctly Seth thought was initially a bug and submitted a ticket for it but came back latter and said that he thought that was the intention of the developers. Where it would generate collisions because the toolpath was only looking at the rest material machined but not the initial stock?

Ok thank you, I figured I was not the first to see this behavior but I couldn't find it in my search either.

I don't think this is a good idea and I can't really see a good reason for it to not see the previous operations and or stock. Or at maybe have an option to switch it on/off? In my opinion, It could cause a bad crash if you are not checking...

It checks against the model as defined in your Setup. It will not check against defined stock.

Now, the toolpath itself WILL calculate against the defined stock, so there's that..

If you would be open to sharing the file privately, I'd be more than happy to take a look at it and see if there is any new issues popping up.
