It has been a couple of months since I have had to thread mill something but has the description to determine how deep to cut radially change recently? The current description is very vague and not helpful at all, in my opinion.

Yes

The tool tip has definitely changed, it used to be a bit more informative, but still a bit cryptic.

now its not really helpful, but is does say that the PDO is relative to the model face which is correct.

The tool tip says that a PDO of 2mm moves the tool INWARD 1mm which is incorrect for that particular graphic, it should say outward

"into" the material, I guess. Entire thing should be scrapped and replaced with just a Pitch Diameter and have nothing to do with the modelled hole.

Yes, it means "into the material", which is about as clear as mud if you're thinking about it from direction of motion.

The "Pitch Diameter" argument has been raised numerous times over the years. We do have plans for improving this experience, but it's just ideas on a paper at this point.
