Suppressing model features for CAM?

I have run into a couple instances where I would like to suppress certain features on my model(specifcally holes) 

 

I have had instances where holes are in my 2nd op, but my 1st op still picks them up so I typically have to make another model without those holes.

 

Another instance was a bore with a .030 radius.  Because I was using a endmill with a .030 corner radius,  there was no way to pick a corner to contour.  I had to pick the contour line which was at the top of the ,030 radius, then offset my bottom height -.030

 

Today I ran across an instance where again, a grease zerk hole in a custom retainer plate where that thru hole affected bores.  The only option I had was eliminating that hole, or making to sketch.

 

Is there any way to suppress such features?

You can suppress them in the model view. I usually suppress the feature in the model tree, switch to CAM to create my Toolpath then protect the Toolpath (so it doesn't need updating) then back to the model and unsupress.

If you don't have history in the model tree, take a look at the direct edit tool, works great!

Can you attach some screen grabs of what you're tying to do, it a bit difficult to know what you mead without a bit more info.

For the example above can't you use select points and select the edge of the hole in the drill op then set the heights manually? I've seen a few problems like this reported but when I made a test file it seemed to work, cad you attach a screen grab of this please.

 

Are you working with models created in Fusion or imported?

Sorry, these models are typically designed in Inventor, so I dont have the feature trees once I load it into Fusion.

 

Here is the 2d contour using cutter comp which alarmed because its trying to machine the hole

Here is another instance where this part was plasma cut including the holes.  It would have been a faster toolpath if it cut air over the holes vs lead in/out and traverses

I think the Patch workspace is going to be your best bet here. Make sure that when you create new patch geometry it creates a new body, then add it either in the toolpath or in the Setup if that feature isn't going to be machined at all until a following operation (and then exclude it from that Setup). For 2D operations it may be quicker to create a sketch to drive the toolpath in some instances. For the shallow pocket with holes you could use a 2D Pocket and define the Stock Geometry using the border as a chain (don't click the face).

I was wondering if you’re selecting faces or edges. If you select the edge than the system won’t know there are holes in the part.

For your second example as Jeff suggests selecting an edge works well.

Apologies for bringing this back from the dead!!

 

I like the idea of using patches and patch bodies to fill the gap, then sorting toolpath... I cant seem to achieve that at the moment.

 

Here is the part, I am contouring out the white space and then pocketing the narrow "island"..Ideally, I would ignore the circle button holes and mill out the pocket

But if I select the face, it includes the button holes...

So I tried to patch them and include them in the toolpath chain.

Burt it still really wants to clear out those holes, even though it isnt boring in at all, just seemly respecting the fact there is a circle there...

Edge selection gives me a strange result too..

Patches would be a great solution if I could get it to function in the way described above...

Have a look at the attached file. I did this two ways. One way I used a 2D pocket and changed the heights tab up to get rid of the extra helix moves (you may need to adjust the heights), and I also did this using a 3D Horizontal toolpath.
