sucky chinese controller starfire

hi all!
so here is the situation: I recently bought a chinese plasma cnc that came preinstalled with a sucky controller called 'starfire'. It is a terrible piece of software and what's worse the manual is in "google translated from chinese" English.

I thought it would be easy to export jobs from fusion, but I soon realized there is no post processor for starfire. Contacting the manufacturer is not an option, (they are both unwilling and unable to offer support).

Does anyone know what my options are?  has anyone got a post processor for starfire? I've seen at some other post that I could make it myself but I'm a newbie and it would take ages. The other option is I could have someone make it for me, so do you know anyone?
Someone told me that I should have a different controller installed on the plasma but I am in a remote area and in order to bring an expert, it would cost me a fortune.
please help!

P.S. even exporting gcode with limited functionality(making the adjustments in the controller) would be -kind of- a solution at this point. Do you think that there is some kind of generic post processor that would at least export the basic toolpath in a gcode that would have some chance of being understood by this p.o.s starfire?

@arisleme

Do you have any sample G Code from the Operators Manual ? That would help a lot 🙂

Meantime go to the Post Processor Library here https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts?https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts?

Just type in Plasma and download the Mach3 Plasma Post Processor, it should be a good starting point to find what does/doesn`t work 🙂

Hi @arisleme

I googled a bit on starfire it seems it uses M07/M08 for turning the plasma on and off. So i would suggest you to use the https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts?p=baileigh_plasma

which is the closest post to this machine you give it a try and let me know if any more thing needs to be added
