in CAM environment for turning we can take only cylinder as a raw material and for milling we can take only raw material in the form of SLAB .we can not take CAST Product as a raw material for milling as well as turning.

 

case 1

 

        in fusion 360, for turning operation raw material is in the form of cylinder and in CAM the program is generated according to cylinder

 

case 2

          but i want raw material in the over size dimmesnsion. as shown in case no. 2

Good news, you actually can! If you have a Model of the casting, or a model of the roughed out part, you can use that as your stock. So, instead of selecting Relative Size cylinder or Box, you can choose "From Solid"

Mind you; They both need (as far as I know) to occupy the same space, share the same origin. So, turn on the solid you need during setup and turn it off when not needed

I had some casting to machine a while ago and drawing up a component as the stock worked very well.

If you just need an allover offset, rather than modeling the stock from scratch you can use Offset in the patch workspace, here's a screencast to demonstrate.

 

I'm not sure why the new component is not a solid body after the offset, unstitch then stitch does create a solid from the surfaces though.

yes...I have also tried this FROM SOLID option. but tool will get moves around the stock. it will not cut any matetial. so there shuld be negative machining option in fusion 360. if it is available then we can model the cast product in oversize manner and then using negative machining we will get required dimensions
