Speeds and Feeds wrong after update

Hello,

so, some updates really f****** me over, but this time its like the cherry on top of everything. I have my tool libary, but because of circumstances i`m changing the spindle speed and feeds really often in the "toolpath window" itself. Since the last update, fusion puts the wrong spindle speed and feeds in my gcode. Not the ones typed in the toolpath setting, its like a mix of the ones in the tool libary and previous ones. I did not check it manually because it`s so stupid so our cnc ran into some problems. When i programm a new tool it works like normal - but i have a lot of files where i have to do it.. Last time it was the "retracting hight bug" which destroyed all of my hundreds of programs and now this. WHY?!

What the f*** is going on there? I have a screencast of it but cant show it here in the forum - i could send it to someone from autodesk looking over it.

Hi -

It would be good to see the screencast, and also get whatever you can share with me, especially the model.

You can PM me here, or email at jeff DOT pek AT autodesk DOT com.

Thank you,

  Jeff

From what I have seen if you change Feeds/Speeds "on the fly" within the Operation then it Creates a new Custom Preset, this does not from my knowledge automatically place the new Custom Preset in the box above the Feeds/Speeds values, there may well be another Custom Preset for that tool being called up causing the problem.

This as I see it is one of the dangers of changing things "on the fly", to me if you want different Feeds/Speeds then it should be done at the Tool and a Preset for say a different material with different Feeds/Speeds should be created and then at the Operation the new Preset should be selected to input the new Feeds/Speeds !!

IMHO The area with the Feeds/Speeds should be for information only and "greyed out" so the user has to select a Preset to change any values.

This is the safest way and that is what I use, some tools that are used a lot have many Presets for different Toolpaths in different materials, yes, it is a lot of work but only needs to be done "as you go" so over time you will build up many Presets that you can call up at will. Just an opinion for information only 🙂 🙂

Thanks for letting me know about the e-mail; it had gone into my spam box.

Taking a look.

Hi Jeff, a small request, can you if possible post your resolution for others as long as it doesn`t violate any NDA ??

It would be much appreciated 🙂 🙂

Thanks

There are still some unknowns here, but one related factor here is that there were several toolpath trims that had been done. These seem to have been affecting some of the feed & speed values. Removing the edits got *most* of them back to as-expected values -- with one exception.

We are still digging into this a bit, but thought I'd give an update.

It's not clear yet to me whether there was a recent regression in this area.
