Simple slit milling not able to get it to mill out in manufacture mode

This is probably a very simple operation to do, but I can not figure out which 2D or 3D? milling I should be using on this section. The slit is the length of the diameter of the bit. It would be super simple to manually program too. It's been driving me crazy.

2D Contour, press the ALT key, select one edge. Give it a bit of Tangential Extension (geometry tab) to clear the part sufficiently. Turn on Multiple Depths. Done
