Simple Part - 2D contour - Empty Toolpath?

CAM Beginner having problems with the 2D contour operation.  I was able to do several similar thicker parts before so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong this time.

Basically a partial circle out of ~3/8" .33 sheet of plywood.  I'm trying to use a 1/4" up spiral bit using multiple passes at ~.12 depth.  The contour shows around the bottom edge of the part with tabs.  The origin all appears okay.

I've attached a picture of the screen/part and the diagnostic log file.  I'm not sure how to upload the drawing/cam document(s).

Please forgive me if this isn't the right place method to post.  I've spent hours searching online through the forums and tried every combination of settings I could think of.  This is just one of many more parts I'm making for my daughters school play.

@bwerst71

This a known issue, there was a thread about it a few days ago, it has something to do with the sharp corner going from an arc edge to the straight edge,

A quick simple fix is to do two contours, one for the arc and one for the straight edge, not ideal I know but it will get the job done for you for now.

Regards

Rob

@engineguy  I found the workaround for it, do the 2 toolpaths like you said then save the sim of it then use that with a tool that is smaller and it works.

Hey,

Have you tried using it as an open contour?
To do this simply select the contour again, and select open contour.
Then select the other area as a stock contour.
You can then put multiple passes on the tool-path in the passes tab.
That will then create multiple passes following the contour.

This can create a different style of tool-path which can sometimes be more useful.

Kind Regards

Sam

It looks like it has been fixed or the setting changes I did.

You have the tool plunging into the material and a suggestion changes the tab to triangular it is easier on the cutter and machine if it can ramp up and down when doing the tabs.

file attached for references.
