setting work offset and tool lengths

Hi everyone. I'm new to CNC machining and got started using fusion 360 for toolpaths. I need some help setting up the tool lengths and work offset. When I set up my tool lengths and work offset my simulation gets thrown all over the place. Its hard to explain but when I set my home position to zero and my tool offsets to zero everything works fine.

I use a siemens 808D controller on a CKE 6150Z lathe with the generic siemens turning post.

Could you provide me with some images that show the simulation situation so that I can better assist you?

In the first post there is a drilling cycle so I had to put in a G17 manually for it to work but even without a drilling cycle the simulation still looks the same
