Rotary parallel path broke several tools

I'm using a 4 axis machine, I usually carve wood with it. Here's my workflow: two adaptive paths(3d) using a 3-6mm flat tool for the roughing stage, one rotary parallel path for the details. 

The accidents happen at the beginning of the rotary path, it always pluges into the wood too fast, and my tool here is always a very fragile v shape tool, usually 0.1-0.3mm tip with tip angle of 20-30 degrees. as a result several of my  tools broke. 

I even added a special path between roughing and detailing paths to cut some space around the position where the first cut happens in the detailing path,  however it can't always clean that area good enough to let the v tool do the first plunge safely.

what's your strategy for this kind of work?

If you're dealing with delicate tools, you want to make sure that you remove as much material as possible with stronger ones. The Rotary toolpaths aren't "stock aware", so anything that's left by prior roughing operations isn't going to be considered for load engagement. The finishing toolpaths just look at the model for their calculation. You might want to consider a "roughing" Rotary toolpath with a 3-6mm ball endmill perhaps?

Thank you for your input, I'll try to add a middle path next time. By the way, do you know which parameter controls the speed when the tool decends at the begining of rotary parallel path?

"Plunge" and "Lead-In":

There are two ways of finding out that data:

1) Right click on the toolpath and select "Show Toolpath Data". This will give you a list of all the moves

2) Go into Simulation and look at the Info tab:
