Reorder pattern sequence

I've notices that when it comes to linear pattern in two dimensions, after on dimension is done, program performs a rapid movement through a whole table to begin the same pattern again in a following column.

It is a waste of time, and the pattern could be executed backwards like in a snake mode.

Is there an option to optimize that?

What you are describing would defeat definition of pattern. Pattern is repetition of tool paths in same order features were selected but shifted in linear or circular direction by desired number of times, at given distance between repetitions.

To optimize selection so that tool cuts in desired order, select geometry in that order, obviously pattern is not best choice in that case.

What you're saying is at least controversial when the pattern operation
currently has a 'reverse' option.

I figured it out by embedding patterns in patterns combined with using the
reverse option.

Reverse option would do same thing as your original but starting from opposite direction.

I was speaking strictly on subject of using single pattern, how you reach desired functionality using multiple patterns within single pattern is another issue.

There is no dedicated button that does what 2 different users with 2 different requirements want, some creativity is operantly part of getting there in different scenarios.

Fully agree this seems a little stupid sometimes.

While I do think it's only an issue for mass mass production it would be nice to have the same ordering options that are in drill currently:
