Renumber Tool Feature Does Not Work

The "renumber tool" button does not renumber the tools in the order which they are used. It sometimes does and sometimes doesn't but more often than not doesn't work, especially if there are more than one setups in a part.

For example, lets say I have 10 tools and I want to number them 1 through 10 in the order they are used. If I click renumber, instead of doing what I want it will number them:

1

2

3

7

8

4

5

6

9

10

I learned how to count in kindergarten so you aren't going to be pulling a fast one on me Fusion 360 devs.

hi @jackG933P, it would be great if you could attach a screen share of this occurring, I have never seen or heard of this behavior before! Are you typically renumbering tools in your document or in your other libraries? Are you using any of the settings in the renumbering dialog or the defaults as shown below?

I promise we do not think counting is meant to work that way 😂

Sure, I can reproduce it fairly consistently. Below are some screenshots:

Tool library dialogue, all tools are numbered correctly by hand:

when I click the renumber button it wants to renumber them all crazy:

Here is the order of operations after I accept the wonky renumbering:

What is going on here?

To answer your questions:

I am renumbering the tools in the document. In my tool libraries, all tools have tool number 0 and show up with no tool number at all. I am using the default settings in the renumber dialogue.

Would you be able to share your Fusion file here?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d/.f3z file in your reply.

I can't share this file, but I will find an example on one that I can share.
