Problems creating threading toolpath.

I keep getting invalid outer radius when I try to create a threading operation. I used to be able to change the outer radius but since a recent update the only options I have are clearence and retract.

Can you export your project as a .F3D and attach it here? There's no real information in your screenshot unfortunately, nothing about selections can be seen.

Yeah I can export something tomorrow. What I was trying to show is all I have to choose from is clearence and retract. I used to be able to choose outer radius and inner radius in threading also. Now I can't and it gives me that error. If I go into compare and edit i can change the outer radius but I have to use a template to get the toolpath in my setup. That's the work around I'm using for now.

made this file really quick but its having the same issue. i can't get it to generate the tool path unless i go into compare and edit and change outer radius to stock od or model od. i used to be able to do that from the radius tab i thought?

Yes that's quite bizarre! Looks like it's supposed to have been 'automated' but missing a reference to the geometry selection perhaps?

@jeff.pek I suspect someone will want to look at this ASAP.

Took a look at the file, and while the thread operation was migrated from an older version the fact that the previously selected "Outer Radius" face was removed causes this unexpected error. We will look into if we can make this better in the next version.

In the meantime, try one of these two workarounds:

1. Re-create the thread operation from scratch
2. Use Compare and Edit to change "Outer Radius" from "Selection" to "Model OD". See screenchot:

Sorry, didn't notice that you had already described the workaround yourself.

I am afraid that you have to re-save the templates to work correctly for the new version.

Inner and outer radius were removed in a recent version since they do not actually affect the generated toolpath for Threading.

The problem is that I'm getting the outer radius error when creating it from scratch. So I had to use my old template as a work around. If I click on threading I get the edit window to choose my face and tool and everything. If I click ok the error pops up and I can't get threading added to my setup. The only way to add it to the setup is choose the template I have and then go into compare and edit. I can give it another try though. Same issue on Mac and Windows.

This sounds like you set it as a system default at some point. If you change it in Compare & Edit, right-click and select "Set as Default" it should help, or you can Reset to Built-in Default to restore the selection of any default made previously.
