Problem turning contours into tool paths

I am have a problem getting fusion to recognize the contour selected and turn them into to toolpaths.   This should be so simple!  Do I really need to sketch a tool path?  TomScreenshot 2021-09-17 113058.png

This seems to work OK for me. Looks like you selected the edge the same way in your image above or are you trying to do something different?

That solved it.....   I was doing the same thing accept I chose all the edges in the contour.  You chose the two parallel edges and the rest of the contour chose to fill in.   I am not sure this is a good thing.  The difference being on what edge you clicked first.

It had to do with my stock to leave   Is there a up level threshold for tool clearance that would effect the stock to leave?

I have a .250" end mill  an .3125" slot and was want to leave .010" per side for finish pass.....

With the stock to leave added you need to reduce the minimum cutting radius.
