Printing out nc of an unfinished cam operation. (GONE?)

Hi,

 

Since I'm working with kind of big stock pieces (2x3x1m of stock most of the time), I have often started to generate an adaptive clearing operation and while it was still generated posted the pieces of code that were already complete to start milling a little faster...
This is because it often takes few hours to generate the whole operation and I this was my way to loose a little less time.


Since 2 or 3 updates ago I cant postprocess an operation that is being generated anymore - have anyone found a way around this?

Didn't know that was possible but why not use 2 ops instead? Make one to do the top 25mm or so then in the second op set the top height to -25mm. Think done like this it'll be easier to start the second op and probably safer.

Well I simply took the unfinished operation and  when it was near the end of its lines, simply stopped it manually and wrote down what line it was on.

Then loaded the same operation but fully generated and started from where the last one finished.

 

When I try to split operation for example 100mm of height each I have the problem of rest machining.
Operation 1 ends on -100mm.

Operation 2 should start -100 and end -200 but always wants to machine some "leftovers" from operation 1 which makes it more time consuming (and its only a roughing operation so why should it...).

 

This might be my mistake somewhere but since I'm always on the clock I didn't bother and just used my method.

Don't use rest machining or are you modeling the stock? Just enable stock contours, I use this when the cutter's not long enough. Rough down the first 35mm with a standard cutter then the rest with a long series, leave Rest Machining unchecked enable Stock Contours but don't select anything so the stock bounds are used.

Im always on custom stock pieces, sometimes it can even take up to one hour for my machine to touch the "leftovers" to get to the level that I want to machine further...
Its a really similar case to when I use one operation to finish the part like scallop and then would want to use another scallop with a tilted tool, with rest machining checked but without boundaries - It will still want to machine some parts of the model that were previously done with the first scallop (even if  I set my pass with 20mm ballnose to 1mm and ignore cups to 10mm).

The whole rest machining option is the most inefficient option in the CAM part of fusion 😞

Hmmm this really seems to work ! 
I would swear that I have tried this some time earlier with really crappy results... 
Need to check on one of my models.
