Potential Big Bug, Just Scrapped Part

Hi All,

can anyone help with this just done a big 3D contour as a semi rough and yes should have simulated first by bad,

ran it right up to a big screech looked at the cutter path and have got a strange arc as shown in the picture that runs the cutter straight in to the job does anyone have any ideas !!! fusion 360 has ran great on the machine (Mazak 530) on every other job now this .

Can you export and share the part? You might get rid of the loop if you reduce the stay down distance, if you make it too small the ramps will stop working and you'll get leads on every level so don't make it too small.

Looking again you have 2 strange arcs in the picture, which one's the problem?

Have you got the whole model selected in the setup and in the op you haven't used model selection and only selected some of the faces?

Typing at the same time as you. From the file menu select export and save as an f3d file.

I've checked the model and saw the same toolpath issue in Picture below.

I can't explane why you get that?

I unprotected the toolpath and regenerated the toolpath.

Problem was gone.

As @Marco.Takx says unprotecting the op and regen works fine but have you made changes to the model? Does a regen fix it for you, if not are you using the mac or PC version of Fusion and what version number.

When I edit the op you have Model and Avoid\Touch enabled but nothing selected, when you generated the toolpath did you have selection? Why did you protect the toolpath, makes it a bit difficult to know exactly when\where the error occured. One thought, this file is V2, if you click the version number in the data panel it will show the older version, can you open it and export that version and attach.

I had a very similar problem yesterday that I got no response to. Mine went away by unchecking the "smoothing" option in the passes menu. Mine was leaving an approximately .125" divit in the entire edge of the part where the tool path reversed direction in a 3D parallel finish. Every other pass would cut into the model on each end.
