post processing add X axis movement

Hello,

I'm trying to use my 4th axis A (along Y axis), the simulation is working well.

But when I'm doing the post-processing it adds an X axis movement while there is no movement on the simulation.

I'm using mach3mill for post-processing.

Hi

 

Often with 4 axis work this comes from not having the WCS located at the rotary centerline.

But without knowing how you have your file setup and whether your machine definition is configured correctly that is just a guess.

 

If you could share your file that would help in determining the issue.

Goto File>Export>save as .f3d/.f3z

First, thanks for the reply.

I tried with just a cylinder but I had the same issue.

I can't join my .f3z here it says that it's not possible so i join 2 pictures and the gcode and hope it will help.

Z needs to be the center of rotation for rotary work. 

put the f3z in a zip and you can upload it

My Z axis is the height, my rotary axis is along Y axis.

Thats not what youre showing! Z axis must be on center of rotation (green axis)

Yes your WCS needs to be located here on center of rotation

now you get no X moves

But if you want it to correctly output A moves when the Rotary is along Y you need to edit the machine definition and change the Coordinate to A but the Orientation to around y

I changed it and it works.

But I don't understand why it don't work before, it was the same coordinate for X ?

it didnt work before because it was wrong.

If your C.O.R. was the top of the part, then technically the part would move in X when you rotated it.
