Plunge only approach on slot?

hi folks. I was working on a parker hanifin slot when i came across this constant problem of fusion not wanting to plunge over the point selected. I select entry position and the point and it doesnt go there. its close but not there. There are 2 contours I am trying to follow.  When i got one path to work like i want(sort of) i copied and pasted and reselected the second contour. i changed nothing else. You can see it generated 2 different paths starting in different location with one of them(both actually) not plunging over the point selected. the entry and exits to and from the contour are different also.WHY?  Also the perpendicular button I am finding rather useless. Does this button function from other commands and  or function being turned on?

Hi @magpiemachining,

Thank you for your feedback. When using entry position the retracts will try to lead in where it's possible clostest to the point. To get more direct control you can use drill position.

I can see there is an issue when using entry position in one of the operations and I have logged it as CAM-8307.

Kind regards

Niels

doing the same on this one. 2 different paths from a copied path from another set up. look at tool 35 ramp in upper side and lower side set up.I reselected the geometry on the opposite side. i selected from the body and  not the sketch. the location of all the holes and contours appear to be correct on both sides. what is also interesting is i have been selecting it like this all morning and it just started this behavior.

Hi @magpiemachining, You have to increase the Maximum Staydown Distance under the Linking tab. /Niels

Hi @magpiemachining I'll comment on the two Contour operation in Untitled(1).f3d: * 2D Contour5 (2): The tool pass is correct, but the lead in could be improved. This is logged in CAM-8422. * 2D Contour5 (3): You'll get the desired tool pass if you change the entry point to a drill position. /Niels
