Parasolid Surface options?

Hello,

I am curious if there's going to be any updates to fusion being able to import .xt, or .sldprt?

These are both very common files from one of our customers and It's really annoying to have to jump to another pc and export from Solidworks, or Surfcam to convert to .STEP that fusion can read.

I understand that I can import from solidworks, but it would be really nice if there was an option to see the .xt files in fusion.

Please let me know if this is something I need to add to the Idea Station.

Kind Regards,

Mp

Fusion already supports the uploading of .xt and .sldprt files.

I just tried both with some fixture models my customer sent me and I've got no issue uploading either file type.

Am I missing something from your question?

I'm certain my customer is using the latest version of SW, but I'm not certain which version was used to create the files, as they are about 6 months old

Import from SWX2017 won't work (yet) with native files, but I think Parasolids should.

Yup...

I'm just a straight up noob! Lol omg, I didn't know there was another method of loading new files in Fusion.

Yes, it does support those files, but not if you try the "new design from file" method. Only the "upload" option within the side panel interface thingy. Haha 😂

That's the way I've been loading new files ever since learning. It was never explained to me that you get about 15 more files supported doing it the other way. Obviously a huge advantage. Will be doing it the other way from now on 😉
