otpimal setting cam

hi,

I have some parameters to be set to obtain a correct processing with cam:

1) putting at zero the mill on the top surface of 15 mm Slot starts with 1 mm gap in more, in this way the bottom of the cavity length 16 mm from the cleared surface.

2) The radius are trimmed as attached photo and horizontal machining non fill up the gap between past contouring with 0.15 mm, T6 R1, and horizontal machining with same mill

P.s.  in the picture was taken off the part of 1mm of stock at most after the contouring

Best Regards

To better understand and assist you, would you be so kind as to share your Fusion file?

To share: File > Export > Save to local folder. Return to thread and attach the .f3d file

I only ask this so I can understand what selections you have done and what needs to be done to obtain what you are looking for.

I'm trying to completely understand what the issue is here. I suspect what you are getting at is that the features aren't deep enough, is that correct?

If that is the issue, it's becuase your Setup is showing your WCS "Z" value as 1mm extra material on top. When you touch off your tools on that surface,  and set that as zero, you will be 1mm short. You could give it a work shift or drop all your tools 1mm. Personally, I seldom bother with having stock displayed and rather prefer to use "top of finished face"

Your setup:

Now, you could still have that 1mm stock left on if you select "Model Box Point":
