Need help making a wooden sign

Hi,

So I'm trying to make this sign, and I used 2D Pocket. When I actually cut the sign, it took out huge chunks of my design and the N was practically shaved off as well. I didn't think my bit was going to be too big. I used a 1/4" end mill. The sign is 24" by 36"

I am going to switch to the 1/8" end mill but am I supposed to use 2D Pocket or something else. I don't want the engraved look with the Vbit.  I need the pockets in the letters to be flat and about 5-6 mm deep. Somehow with the pocket cut it took out 8 mm. My stock is 35 mm think and that's how I did it in the design as well. Then I have the letters 6 mm deep (or when I drew it I extruded it to 29 mm).

Any help or links to videos appreciated. Photo of my design attached.

Without knowing how wide your slots are and seeing what your toolpath is it`s hard to say.

Always best to upload your Fusion f3d file for checking, go to :-

File > Export > Select f3d format > save to somewhere on your computer > then attach to your reply

Thank you. Attached is my file. It seems like the toolpath is even going beyond the grooves of the logo/letters and also it is scalloped in the logo. I think I was supposed to click smoothing as well, but not sure. I tried simulating "Trace" today and that didn't work since it was just doing the outline.

This is a "Design" induced issue. Combine your models properly and you should be all set. There are other ways of solving for this, I've shown one in this video:
