NEED HELP Horizontal 4th axis CNC machine (B table)

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for guidance on configuring the axis directions for this type of machine. In the Setup Manager I can set the directions, but one axis always reverts/ flips back. I’m not sure what I’m missing.

If you’ve run into this before, could you share the correct steps or settings?

Hi

 

That Machine is Configured Conventionally in terms of axis directions, I Think you May be getting Confused about which way Z is Due to the Table moving In Z Vs the Head moving.

 

Z+ Should be pointing towards the Spindle on the Workpiece

Hi

This graphic is intended for the machine operator, not the programmer.
In the UX world, this is commonly called "idiot-proofing."

As a programmer, you know that g-code always defines the toolpath. G-code does not define the part/fixture path.
The physical movement of a workpiece can be the result of combining g-code with the machine's structure.
But g-code itself defines the toolpath.

Review the instructions and assess which elements of the infographic represent actual tool movement and which are just a mental shortcut for the operator.
