need a .484 using a 3/8 bit

i am trying to make a .484 diameter hole. i have a 3/8 bit why am i getting an  error. I am using 2-d contour to attempt this.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

 

If you could attach the part here it would be much easier to see what is wrong. To do that go to File > Export > Save to my computer and then attach the file to your reply.

You need to make sure that there is room for both the tool, leads and stock to leave. Try turning off Stock to Leave, Lead-in and Lead-out.

 

Alternatively try using the Bore or Circular operations.

 

You may also find the warnings in the Log useful. If there is not enough room for the leads, you should get a warning like this:

 

Warning: A contour was not machined because the given lead parameters would cause a collision!

 

Click the orange triangle in front of the operation to show the log. Or right-click and choose Show Log.

Change Linear Lead-in Distance to 0.
