Multiple setups and a catch 22

Ran into something that is either a bug, not thought out or I just don't see another way.

4 setups.

Cam Origin has to be changed in each setup in order to machine that particular side.

IF I decide I want to add an operation to setup #1 it loads the new operation at the end of the setup #3 for instance in the operations list.

This makes the cam origin and stock postion incorrect.

I can't move this operation up to the first setup without choosing some geometry.

This makes choosing the geometry impossible as it is in the wrong plane.

So I get a no path chosen error.

Catch 22

Have I made this harder than it needs to be? Is this where that tool orientation comes into play

This is not a bug. And no, Tool Orientation is NOT the answer.

When you want to add something to a previous operation, go up to the "Setup" and activate it, by clicking on this little radio button:

Furthermore, you can click on an operation and drag it into any other Setup that you have. It will require regeneration and most likely some re-selection, but it's more than feasible

arrgh, I was hitting and trying every scenario but that button.

However it remains that if  a new operation is selected and it adds at the end of the last setup it can't be moved until it has geometry

and

the geometry can't be selected because the cam origin and the stock is pointing the wrong direction.

No matter now that I know better.

Easy enough to hit the ESC key (unless you have a new Mac  ) and start over on the proper Setup.

Barring that, you could always select some random feature and allow it to fail that way, and THEN move it up the line
