Multi-axis facing of fillet on cylinder

Hi guys,

I would like to face two fillets on a cylinder. The top fillet I do with a simple ramp strategy, the ball end tool is accessing the stock from the top. However for the bottom fillet I can only access it from a radial direction to the cylinder, so I need the tool/stock to rotate around the cylinder axis while cutting out the bottom radius.

Here's an image, do you have any advice on what strategy and settings to do this?

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Could you export and share your .f3d file so we can provide better assistance? To do that:

File > Export > Save to local folder. Return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply.

If the file contains linked component, the links must be broken. If the file cannot be shared due to privacy concerns, you will have to email the file or PM me the A360 link

I can only choose between iges, sat, smt and stp when I go to file/export. It doesn't seem to matter where I choose to save the file.

That's because you have linked components. Just post the A360 link (available from right clicking on the file in the Data Panel)

I did not get an "unlink" option on any of the components and no "linked" symbol anywhere. But I had not created any actual bodies in the active document, everything was in (previously unlinked) components. I created the example bodies in the actual file instead and now it works. Thanks and here's the file.

So I put one flow tool path in the document, to show you what area I want to machine. The selected tool orientation does not work since it collides with the machine table. Also, I can't get the tool path to change 90degrees in its direction. The objective is to make the tool go around and around the cylinder horizontally, similar to ramp/contour, but keeping the tool in a horizontal orientation (at least horizontal enough that it doesn't crash into the table).

Sorry if I'm over explaining it.

No, you aren't over explaining it.

Unfortunately, this sort of motion is not yet possible in Fusion.
