Making A Stock in a Milling Setup that is from the lathe

I currently have a tube with a bunch of flats and Holes that I need to machine on a milling machine but I am having trouble defining the Stock in the setup for it. We typically turn it first on the lathe complete and then do milling operations on the mill.  How can I define the stock so it looks like the turning stock exactly?

 

Would be nice to have a button or a add-in that can make a Spun Profile body that we can use for milling aswell (not just turning).  I currently have to make a sketch on a plane and intersect the body to get the cross-section.  Then I have to edit this sketch to remove the milling features/flats and holes and then revolve it.  Then in setup I select Stock "From Solid"

Finish the simulation on the lathe, then save the stock as a mesh. Import it back and use that as your body.

We Currently don't make turning toolpaths in fusion.  I guess I could make a dummy setup and do this though.  I think my cross-section and edit sketch still might be quicker.

if it truly is a tube, you can just do a Fixed Size Tube as your stock for milling.

I copy the body, then use simplify to delete the hole features.

You can drag a slider to adjust what size holes will be removed.

Design history must be on to do this.

We import body's from solidworks (.sldparts) so the part comes into fusion as a single body.   I use to do it this way with 'remove features' but I found it was a bit buggy and you had to be careful what order you remove features in.

 

These are all good ways.  When I look at the turning spun profile and how it makes it, its just so quick and trouble free.  Kinda wish we could do this with milling. 

 

I have made an add-in that does try to replicate this spun-profile command but it does have some glitches.

I didn't know it was a something that was being worked on.  That will be an exciting day I think.  I would definitely be using it.
