Hi, I am trying to create my own machine in Fusion. It is  horizontal table-table 5-axis machine. Proces of creating machine looks really easy but unfortunatly I have all the time the same problem.

Y axis in simulation goes to the sky.

Hi there,

It looks like you have not set the tool attachment point correctly on the spindle, hence the tool appears in the wrong place.

That is where I would start looking to fix the issue

Hmm that is odd.

Everything appears to be correct there, I am not sure what to suggest next other than, if you could upload the machine in a reply here I can take a look

Hi,

Sorry its taken so long to get back.

File format is ok, but doesnt have a Machine associated with it, its an unfortunate side affect of the way its handled in fusion.

The proper way to export it is to go into the machine Library and right click on the machine and click "export"

I was able to create a working machine from that file, however i had to recreate the kinematics from scratch.

I'm not sure why you are having trouble, I'd maybe suggest starting again from scratch, or export the machine through the machine library and attach here

You will need to modify your model slightly also to include clearances between all the moving parts.

Currently like you see here the x axis rails to body have no gap and this will cause problems in the future when machine collision detection becomes active.

You need clearance like this:

Hope that helps

Cheers

Hi,
I am really grateful of your help. Thank you. This time I have attached machine in good format. I will change model maybe today and start from scratch, hope this time everything will do properly.

I did it. Of course there are some bugs for example tool is not mount properly but I have to move tool point a little inside spindle. Thank you so much.

Nice!

The reason the tool is sticking out too far is the toolholder is modelled with the (spindle)Taper, Ideally it should only be modelled up to the Flange(that contacts the spindle face)

If ALL your toolholders have the taper you can do as you say and move the attachment point back, but if you have a mix I'd suggest making them all the same.

I had downloaded them from Haimer's web site and everyone are the same (tool holders) but have decided to change every because length compatibility in real.
