Lines for invisible sketches interfering with chain selection

This started with the new update:

ltomuta_0-1603207814214.pngltomuta_0-1603207814214.png

I double checked, the sketch to which this line belongs to is supposed to be hidden. It does not appear to be related to the fact that the sketch is in a manufacturing model, my colleagues is seeing lots of sketch lines suddenly from allover his "classic" model in vise template project.

I tried to X-ray the line but nothing shows on long-press, just the sketch line.

We are having the same problem here.  Able to pick hidden sketches as well as bodies and components that are hidden, which ends up selecting the entire top level component of my document.

Thanks for bringing this to the forum.

I discovered something related to this earlier today, but it presented itself when I was creating a Setup. This drives the issue a bit deeper and is certainly concerning....

I ruined so many parts with a final gratuitous chamfer that ended up going the wrong side of a sketch line, that having to deal with this is genuinely a nightmare scenario.

Does it do this on every file, and what happens if you save and restart?

I believe you, I saw it with my own eyes, on my own files. When I submitted the files for debugging, it wasn't doing it anymore.....

I've also had a problem where a hidden sketch was stopping me from selecting any faces etc on the model while I was trying to select heights. The sketch was used to create a stock model block so encompassed my whole part. I could only select parts if I rotate the model so I was looking "under" the sketch plane (which was on top of my model).

I managed to get it to go away by going into the design workspace and show/hiding the offending sketch a few times and editing the sketch. No idea what did it but after that it seemed to be behave as expected. Hope this doesn't come back again.

For me and my colleague this happens a lot but at random times. According to him, closing and reopening the file makes the problem go away at least for a while.

In my case I have not seen it today but then again, the only sketches I made today were for engraving and those are tiny and not usually in the way anyhow.

Got the same issue plaguing me when working on cam in manufacturing environment. Cycling on/off visibility of individual bodies/ models that are getting in the way is a temporary fix to allow me to keep working but this is quite time consuming.

It would be nice to have the option to be able revert to a previous working version of fusion, I need to get the job done!

Have you restarted Fusion, and have you restarted your computer? This is such an odd issue plaguing only a small section of users (myself included on occasion) and it's proving quite nasty to pin down and say "ah-ha! that's what's causing this"

Ive tried restarting the program a few times and it just comes back after a few minutes of work. Also tried restart of computer. same result.

Has anyone with the issue tried a re-download and re install of fusion?

We are working hard to understand why this is happening.

One recent discovery is that it is potentially related to having done a simulation in Manufacture. If you close and reopen the document, it seems to go away again until you access simulation.

It would be good to get confirmation of that, or symptoms that suggest otherwise.

Thanks,

Jeff

Yes it is a problem with the simulation.

Restarted fusion, deselected in process stock

everything working fine

Ran simulate

Problem appears

The problem might be appering "randomly" because of in proccess stock simulation processes a simulation in the background? it seems to help to have the in process stock sim not activated.

I am having the same problem.  Glad to know it is being triggered by simulation so I can avoid it for now.

We have two seats on two different computers and they are both doing it constantly. Closing the file and reopening it only solves the problem for a few minutes. Two computers with completely different hardware. I posted about this on the Fusion 360 Facebook group and I had about 5 people say they just started to see this exact same issue since the last update. We hope to see this resolved ASAP as we are using this software daily for work. (Trying to use it I should say.. This error along with the many other bugs has proven to be a major headache.)

We contacted support through phone and they did not have any solutions.

Also, we tried updating drivers, restarting computer, restarting Fusion, so on, so on. Nothing has worked.

I have the same thing

persistent sketch items that show up even with all the sketches turned off bodies as well still showing on the screen

I wondered why I was having trouble selecting chains for cam

this is on a mac

along with frequent lock ups not crashes when using the nc for post ( note this may be the os )

More clues:

I've been playing with Manufacturing Models and using them to roughly model a vise's jaws around my part. Sketch, extrude, use bodies as fixture. All was fine.

Following a discussion with my colleague who was again facing the issue, I started to suspect that components rather than bodies and sketches are the culprit so I reopened my project and converted the jaws into components, moving the sketch inside as well. Sure enough, immediately after some construction lines from the jaws' sketch showed up as a ghost in a setup that had those jaws hidden.

We have located the root culprit and are working on a hotfix. Thanks for all the feedback and we're really sorry for this significant inconvenience!
