hi folks can any one answer why fusion will not remove all the material?  wrong strategy? also the plunge outside of stock would be a great feature  and would work great here if it worked consistently. any reason this is so difficult to get to work right? simple 2d op. set up2 tool#35

It will not start outside because you have a containment selection so it has to start inside there. Changing your containment and setting stock contours to be on.

Unless you have a machine that can not run it, I would always use a 3D adaptive to start any roughing rather than trying to constrain the daylights out of a 2D toolpath.

hi John thanx for looking. I tried tool outside also but keep getting the same results. tried changing the stock also. ill keep at it and try the 3d adaptive. adaptive uses more memory from what see and the Mori doesn't have all that much 1/2 gig or so. Milltronics will hold it all day being pc base. but has a problem violating boundaries using certain paths because its pc based. horizontal being one of them. that machine ruined so many mold plates it ridiculous.

@magpiemachining Fusion works within what you select, with 3D toolpaths you can select nothing for a toolpath and it will cut to the stock and if you have plunge outside stock set it will do it, the toolpath is technically plunging outside of the model from what you selected as a toolpath. It is one of those gray areas.
