Lathe vertical roughing passes causes crashes

It does not account for the stock in the middle of the smaller ID and will rapid to depth.  Horizontal works fine, but vertical passes are much preferred in this case due to the flex on the boring bar.

Unfortunately, I can not upload the specific file.  You could recreate the geometry easily though.  I can tell you that the internal shape is basically a spline derived bowl with a small (about 10mm) thru hole in the bottom.  Pre-drilling the hole is not an option.

A similar thing happens with the back and forth toolpaths as well, the tool gouges the remaining stock during a rapid re-positioning motion.  I will upload a picture next week.

If vertical passes isn't working it's most likely something to do with your specific file. We'll need the file to be able to fix it otherwise we'll be shooting darts in the dark. Perhaps you could create a similar part but not the one you're having trouble with, confirm it's not working on your end and then attach it here?
