Hi,

Thanks for the Fusion product. Is there a lathe face grooving solution in the works? It does not seem to work yet.

Thanks,

Any

Can you export a .F3D file and attach it here? There may be a way to do what you need but without a sample it's difficult to troubleshoot.

Hi,

Thank-you for your reply I do a lot of projects that require a face groove. I can do it manually, and I can create a simple MDI routine to solve the problem as well. I would like to see a simple face grooving option in the fusion, and that is my point. I am not desperate I really like the fusion product. Please see attached file. I would do this work on a Haas TL-2 lathe.

Thank-you for keeping the face grooving in mind during future upgrade decisions.

My apologies that it took so long to get to this. I'm not a lathe guy by trade generally so I'm not going to call this perfect (I don't like that it travels in X at all, but haven't found a way to keep it from doing that yet).

I had to change the definition of one of your face groove tools in order to fit it inside the face groove geometry, but I suspect that has to do with relief definitions which are not good right now. But it is possible:

I am going to work on this a little further and see if I can't make this better. File in its current state attached.

Thanks,

That tool path is close to what I want. I think the ease at which other tool paths are generated in Fusion has spoiled me.
