Internal CAM kernel error for Face operation

Hello fellow machinists

I've got the Problem with the facing operation.

I'm not able to get it working if the tool is bigger than Ø8mm for a face wich measures 43x28mm.

It is working with the Ø6mm, Ø8mm end mill, but not with anything bigger or a face mill.

It always throws me a Internal CAM Kernel error.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the options for the toolpath (how it calculates it) but I just don't find the right box to tick...

Thank you very much for your help.

I did some furhter testing.

I experience the same behaviour with the 2D Contur. Even with a very simple (just a step) contur.

Ø6mm mill works, 8mm and bigger doesn't.

It gets wireder, on some parts it does work but only with the example Ø50mm face mill?

Can there be something wrong with my tool?

Hello,
It would be helpful if you could share the problematic part here.

I have checked on your part and what I've found is that you have not selected your stock contour properly.

Please check the screencast:

Means you just had do reselect the contur you want to face?

But thats what I did!? If I do exactly the same as in the screen cast:

- Delete the selected segment (Stock Selections)

- Select the chain from the contur (where also the tool Orientation is set to)

- Click OK and wait for toolpath to be generated

Then I get the exact same error as before.

<EDIT>

I checked again

After saving the part, and again doing the things you have shown me, it actually does show me the correct Stock contur selection, but still doesnt calculate a toolpath.

</EDIT>

That's odd.
Could you record a screencast so that I can see your workflow?
