Icon for sideways compensation doesn't make sense

What is the arrow supposed to represent?  If it's supposed to represent the edge of the material and tool direction, then the left direction is backwards.

I believe the arrow is more representative to the arrow on the contour direction relative to the cutter position not specifically the material location

Ok, that makes sense.  Then the left direction is wrong, because clearly the tool is on the right of the arrow.

If you hover over the graphic I believe it is showing moreso the Climb vs Conventional direction relative to Clockwise Spinning cutter, so I amend my statement that is the intent, nothing to do with contour direction, someone from the design team should comment however I am guessing

Ya this icon is completely useless.  Left and Right in words only is a lot clearer than this weird icon.  Also the Right icon is just rotated 180º from the left icon, so the cut is identical.  I never actually paid any attention to the actual icon, but I must agree, this is not a great way to show intent.

Yeah, it's not clear. I'll get some eyes on this..
