Do you have a 4 or 5 axis machine? If so, make one Setup and use Tool Orientation.

If working with a 3 axis machine, you will need to make one Setup for each part orientation, using "Select Z and X axis" to align the Setup to the part.

A VF4SS is machine size, that does not tell me if you have a rotary axis on the machine as well. Is that the case?

By "Rotary", I was inquiring about the presence of a 4th axis unit such as a an HRT-210

Since you don't have one of those on your machine, you will need to create a Setup for each side of the part you wish to work on. If you are new to Fusion, and CAM in general, I strongly suggest working through the tutorials and the YouTube content that we put out

Do you have a file that you can share?

Right click on the file in the Data Panel and select "Share Public Link". Copy the link and paste it here. If it's a sensitive file, you can PM me the link if you prefer.

Or;
File > Export > Save to local folder. Return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply if the file contains linked components, either break the links or put the .f3z file in a .zip folder and attach that.

Generic stock will align itself to the selected Z axis and won't always display correctly. I've learned to live with it, as it's the code I'm after, and not entirely the simulation. If you have your WCS set to a point on the part itself, there shouldn't be an issue. If you have it set to a stock point, then there's a strong likelihood of an issue arising.

The only way to have the stock not change alignment would be to model it out and select that in your Stock definition.

Yes, that is what is happening in your file. To avoid this graphical display, you would need to create an actual solid model of your stock. We do have work underway to better streamline that process.

To machine that slot, I'd likely use an endmill (smaller than the slot) and use a 2D Contour. The presence of the hole breaking through the slot would likely necessitate an additional sketch line to bridge over that:
