How to create tool path from sculpt or mesh files

I've designed a violin top and trying to do a tool path. Not having any luck in picking surfaces

( top or underside of part). I still see the sections squares from sculpt menu. Is this ok or am I not doing the conversion correctly?

I suspect two possibilities or a combination of them:

It might be that you are not capturing design history. Do you have Timeline? If you Capture Design History you'll see a Finish Form button. By clicking that Fusion will convert the design to BRep surface or solids (if your form has a volume), given there are no self-intersecting geometries within you form. Generally it is BRep solid that can be used for toolpath generation.

Another possibility is that you are capturing design history but after finishing Form you have only surface, not solid. In this case you now need to construct solid out of surface, e.g. by Thicken or Replace Face.

If you share your file or at least a screenshot of your design that includes Timeline section and expanded Bodies folder of Browser you can get better help from forum users.

Mesh files cannot be machined with any of the 2D Toolpaths, as you need "selectable" edges, which Mesh doesn't give us in Manufacture. You need to use 3D toolpaths, as those are "Model Aware".

If you're still having issue, please export and share your Fusion file.

File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply
