How much crap for tool library before its fixed?

There seems to be WAY to many problems with tool library. All of the crappy sample files are always there but the tools that people use every day seem to get up and walk away never to be seen or heard from again. Way to many problems trying to recover years of work by operators. You act like they have Days and Days to put into trying to find something that should have never gone anywhere. PLEASE FIX THIS CRAPPY TOOL LIBRARY. Thank you.!!!

Hi -

You mentioned this in your other message, but can you elaborate a bit here?

Where did you have tools that you now don't find?

Thanks,

  Jeff

This was just a comment to the frustration that many, many users  have to put up with.

I had made 5 times now my own Tools library under local library but every time I go looking for the library it is empty of all tools. I did find it on once on the cloud library but now my cloud does not show up when trying to select a tool to do a job with. I only have about 10 tools right now but far more users have 100's and then can not find them any more. They are all over the forums. just look for lost tool library and you will see. The stupid sample tool libraries are always there but not the libraries we make. Just tried of doing the same old job over and over. I hurt like heck all the time, just like I got shot from a gun in the back and just can not waste my time reentering stuff that should never go away. I am ready to spend BIG MONEY just to stop this. Other users are loosing way to much money looking for tools or reinventing the wheel just to mill an item.  Sorry just really tired of trying for over a year to mill a very simple thing but something is always wrong or gone when I need it. A $2,000 machine sitting collecting dust. That is not much for you but for me it is over  4 months pay since I can not work.  Have a good day and please do not try to help me right now I just can not deal with it. Take care. Thanks for asking. I will get over it and try again in a week or so.

I'm not sure what you expect to change by waiting a week.

We certainly have had people with some troubles with the Cloud libraries -- but I don't think it's been many.

For local libraries, they are working as far as I know. If not, this is something we should understand better.

There has been some confusion over the filtering in the tool select dialog. When just opening the tool library from the command panel you should see all libraries.

Happy to try to help if we can.

With all the changes to the library I think it would be good to have Lars do a new video, Sometimes the filtering can confuse people. I have had new to Fusion folks see a blank library, by not having it setup quite right in their filter. The often see a check mark on their library, but forget the have to click to see it.

Jeff, after being up all night I was able to figure out that most of the tooling stuff. For some reason while using Fusion my settings changed and that is why my cloud tools went away. I found them again and got my tools back into my local library. I had watched Lars video about 8 times before all this so I knew what I was looking for.  As far as my tools selection page going off page my current screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 on a 38" TV/Monitor. If I change the overall resolution everything gets to small on the screen. Can I change the resolution just for Fusion? I can not find that area.

Just so you understand the part about waiting a week, if you have a really bad cold and can not get out of bed you are not going to go to work and have to put up with that when you can call into work and just stay in bed. Hope that makes since to you. Thanks for your help.!!!!!  I have always been excited about Fusion 360 and seems to re-spark my interest in some things but when things go wrong it gets frustrating so it is easier for me to walk away then to get to the point of wanting to smash the computer. Thanks again.

Hi again,

Regarding your screen resolution, 1920x1080 should be OK, I would think. That's what I run with, with no problems. Not sure why you would be seeing the dialog take up so much more room. What can you tell me about the computer?

I understand the frustration -- just didn't understand the details of your situation, including your unfortunate cold. That makes everything more difficult!

Regarding your tools -- why not just work with the cloud library? You really shouldn't need to use the "local" libraries, unless you are having issues with the cloud libraries.

Jeff, I do not have a cold. It was just a reference as to what others would do if they felt really bad and just did not feel like dealing with the things right now. I told you I hurt like heck. I lay on the couch 6-8 hours a day due to the pain and get tired when things are changed when I did not change them, and just sometimes have to take a big break ( a week or two) before I can get back to it. Thanks for your help. I will get through this tooling screen thing and then tear my arm off and beat myself with it for being so stupid.
