Haas Renishaw Tool Setting Probe GCode Question

We haven't really used our tool setting probe as much as we should. I'm hoping that will change but I want to understand the code that Fusion posts.

I selected measure tools at start of program in the post and get a tool measuring cycle outputted like shown below:

(T37 D=6.6 CR=0. TAPER=140deg - drill)
/ G65 P9023 A12. T37
(T39 D=20. CR=1. - bullnose end mill)
/ G65 P9023 A23. T39 H125.5 D20.

My question is, is what do the A values you mean and what are the options for the A value can it only be 12 or 23?

Thanks

Matt

Hi @mattdlr89,

The A value tells the macro what type of tool you are trying to probe, I'm looking for the manual now but each tool type has an A value.

Hope this helps.

Thanks @Richard.stubley

That's what I thought I guess what I'm more getting at is will this measure the diameter of the tool or does it only measure the length?

(I looked through the inspection plus manual but that doesn't seem to cover the tool setter)
