Geodesic and tool options

I am finding Geodesic a nice option to have in the tool kit, but I am wondering if there will be an option to use bull mills in the near future. I have a challenging 17-4 stainless part that would benefit from having that tool as an option. If I try using a bull mill as an option right now, it just says it is not supported.

There are no immediate plans to expand the toolpath into supporting bullnose tools, sorry. 🙁

Hi Seth, This is unrelated, but do you know of a list of supported tools to each ToolPath?
it would be Neat to have a List somewhere in each toolpath.

I do not, sorry. I've asked internally for this before, and the only one I found was very outdated (it only had the older HSM toolpaths on it). I can ask around again, as that would be a handy resource to have in the Help Files

Talk of barrel tools a couple Christmas's ago. And 3+2 auto roughing so who knows.

Seth, thanks for the reply. Was just curious as to what might be in the pipeline for future development with this tool path, but you answered my question. Since geodesic uses scallop patterns, I used scallop on my part with a bull end mill and it came out very nice. Having used geodesic a few times, it seems to have a more "optimized" algorithm because on my computer, it seems to calculate faster and a little smoother.

Geodesic is a really sweet toolpath, even though it's currently limited to spherical tools. I'm sure there's been some discussion internally about whether or not to expand to other tool types, but that's rather outside my area of involvement and any info I think I might have on it is likely quite wrong 😛
