Fusion Sheet Metal Rules For Press Brakes

I'm looking for an update or extension to run the rules and material type individually based on the press brake tools you imput. Since how the sheet metal rules are setup right now with the constant radius it's more meant for a folding machine; not a press brake. It does work to use for press brake however you have to change the radius if there is one or more different angles on the same component. Or even if you are making various components you can only set the rule for one radius and another angle other than your set radius will need to be manual adjusted.

Therefore very time consuming and easily to forget so just not ideal in general for press brakes. Press brakes have a variable radius being 3 points and 1 variable: V die= 2 points, punch= 1 point, depth= variable.

For example when you only bend a piece of sheet metal a slight bend it will have a larger radius then that exact same piece of sheet metal on the the exact same punch and V die set bent more will have a smaller radius. There is also another variable which fusion has some options for, called K factor it is the center line on the thickness of the metal on the radius section.

It is ok to leave at reality 0.5 for thinner ferrous metals, from my experience anyways it not until you get into the thicker ferrous metals like 0.5 inch and up that it start to make a measurable difference.

Anyhow for the K factor, sheet metal rules and die rules it is best to go with the Delem press brake control data from the Netherlands since they have it all figured out already for a lot of different metal types.

We have done next to nothing for work involving press brakes, nor do I believe there is anything planned in the short term.

(friendly piece of advice; don't be afraid to use the "enter" key to make a few page breaks, which would make your post a bit more readable) 🙂
