Fusion crashing when adding lathe template

Hi Developers

Please correct a bug that is causing Fusion to crash when adding a lathe template with operations.  I have a lathe template with Main Rough and Main Finish two simple operations and when I bring it into the setup Fusion freezes and the Memory usage jumps.  It does not however simply load anything it will stay like that forever.  I have tried saving different programs over top of the template but it does not work.

I could link the file Im working on but you wont be able to see my templates and it crashes new documents old docs doesnt matter.

You could attach here the template itself. There is an export option for templates.

Other than that make sure you send all crash reports to Autodesk and, especially since you can reproduce the issue, send the template to them as well, via a support ticket.

IT SAYS TEMPLATE FILE FORMAT IS NOT SUPPORTED. How convenient when attempting to share the template.  No other fomat is allowed for export.

The file type (.f3dhsm-template) is not supported. YAY FUSION

Just crashed again with a new template saved as well.  Well crashed is a strong word since us Fusion users are used to much worse.  This just freezes indefinitely.  Causing a loss of all unsaved work since the "recovery document" if attempted to open will cause the same problem to occur.  Why is Fusion so antiquated just have Autosave online like every other we based app and be done with it.  Recovery files etc is alot of complexity for nothing.  Every action should be autosaved.

Anyways can you fix this problem???

Why is it only turning templates causing this???

Please look into why when I uncheck the "automatically generate toolpath on operation change" check box in Preferences it no longer freezes.  I want to be able to use templates mill or lathe like I am paying for and have programs automatically generate.  Now i have to control+g or right click generate after every edit and its not a good efficient workflow.  Also how long until you allow a hotkey for Postprocess???

Actually hoped the more powerful PC would help with glitchy Fusion...kept blaming myself and the old PC...its not really any better for glitches...only faster for calculating programs and booting up Fusion...

This is a sample turning template I have just created. Really just default parameters for two operations. Yes, you cannot upload template files here (would be nice if we could) but surely that can't possibly stop you. You can upload ZIP files, XML files...

With this basic template the toolpath are safely applied and are generated automatically. So, show us your template.

How to export an xml of the template?

Export as .d3dhsm-template and then just change file's extension using your favorite file management tools...

I was able to apply it instantly to my test project. The toolpaths were generated automatically and really fast but one failed because it depends on a face selection for the back plane.

If you have a design for which this template fails to generate, you should share that too.

This is still causing Fusion to freeze completely any lathe template with multiple programs.  Can someone help me with this??  Im having to constantly resart fusion or apply templates individually.  It worked temporarily to disable auto calculation in Preferences but now it is even worse. @jeff.pek

@scarwars13 - I just tried to use your template, and didn't have any problems. Are you able to share a document that this happens with? It would be useful to see a video of the problem happening. Can you make one?

Ok, so Fusion is not actually crashing although it gets into a state where you will have to kill the task and restart it. That's more like my issue here: a command/dialog seems to be open either in the background or on a secondary display (I noticed you appear to have one on the right) and it is stealing the focus from the main window.

Look on the other display as this happens, see if any Fusion related dialog pops-up there. If not, see if what I did with the application thumbnail on the taskbar reveals any background dialogs on any of your displays.

I had thought it was a multiple display issue but unhooked all the displays and get nothing to look at differently.  This is brutal and as a result I cannot efficiently run templates for our new lathe.  Its also very tempermental and newly created templates in the same session do not have this issue...but then somtimes they do.  I cant figure out what exactly is causing this but I cannot use lathe templates at all or operations templates which is causing the setup time for our machining to increase dramatically.  Seriously thinking of moving away from Fusion as they claim to be serious about mill/turn lathe but keep ruining everything almost every update.  Can we just have one version at a time of Fusion and revert back when stupid bugs come up?  Let me know if you find something anything...i imagine some kind of script would fix this.
